Local groups & organisations

Dosti estimates there to be over 1500 local community groups, voluntary organisations and faith groups active in Dudley Borough. Around 800 of these are linked up through Dosti’s member networks. Information about many groups is available through two websites.

Information about local groups

Dudley Libraries host and maintain an online Community Information Directory which provides information, contact details, activities, newsletters and more about hundreds of local community, voluntary and faith organisations. You can search the database by different categories of group, and also see What’s On in Dudley Borough.

Visit www.dudleyci.co.uk

It’s free to have your organisation added to the directory, and the libaries staff can add your logo, newsletters and more to your page. Use the ‘add organisation’ button on the online database.

Faith connections is a website which provides information about faith groups across the Black Country. You can find out which faith groups operate in a particular locality, what activities they provide to their community and what resources they can offer, such as rooms to hire.

Communicating with groups

Dosti has developed a briefing for people who wish to communicate information to local groups. This provides information about reaching different sorts of groups by communicating through networks and other channels which Dosti can support, such as email groups. The support sheet also provides hints and tips for carrying out your communication in more empowering ways – something we feel is very important, and could lead to the development of fruitful and trusting relationships in the long term.
